I read Christopher McDougall’s ‘Born To Run’ two years ago and it changed my life. I was a 55 year old ex-long distance runner who thought he’d never run again due to a persistent foot injury.
I started running again wearing the New Balance Minimus and my feet started getting stronger.
I’ve always been a sandals wearer, season permitting, and eventually got tired of not being able to find the perfect pair (anywhere)  so when I bagged my electrical engineering career last year I decided to learn how to make sandals myself. I have to say that I think I might now have the perfect pair of running sandals; in fact I’ll put them up against any other pair in the world for comfort, durability and performance. I run two hours a day, every day in them down here in Mexico. Oh yeah, they’re made from recycled airplane tires and leather.
